As we enter the new year full of hope and expectation, we are filled with immense gratitude at the warmth and generosity continually shown to us by our donors and supporters. This has enabled us to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the 170 vulnerable children in our care.

Your contributions have made it possible for us to continue this vital work, as we only receive a 25% subsidy from the government to care for these children. The remaining 75% must be covered through donations like yours.

Your donations are utilised in four areas: Feeding our children, providing a safe living environment, meeting their therapeutic needs, and educating them.

Feeding 170 children three times a day is no small task. Our main meals consist of 32 kg of meat, 32 kg of salad or vegetables, and 12,5 kg of starch to provide balanced and nutritious meals for our growing children. Your donations enable us to provide this essential nutrition and care daily.

Within the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom we operate 15 houses that function as normal households, each providing a loving and stable living environment for our children. Some of our houses need essential household items such as lounge suites, microwave ovens, and other necessities. Your continued support is crucial in meeting these needs and ensuring the well-being of our children.

In addition to their basic needs, many of our children require various types of therapy to address the challenges they face due to their unfortunate circumstances. Your contributions help us cover the costs of these therapies and ensure that each child receives the individualized care and support they need to heal and thrive.

Furthermore, some of our children require specialised education at private special needs schools, which come with additional costs. Your donations make it possible for us to provide these children with the educational opportunities that best meet their unique needs and help them reach their full potential.
