This year, the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom presents the fourth Lumen Fesitval of Lights. The wonderful and peaceful Bushveld atmosphere makes our Festival of Lights a very special event during the festive season.
The Lumen Festival of Lights came about in 2019 after a home for the elderly donated Christmas lights to the Children's Home. This donation made it possible to host the annual Festival of Lights. Even during the pandemic years, the Lumen Festival of Lights became an event where the public, staff and children could experience the spirit of a Bushveld Christmas.
We invite everyone to celebrate Christmas with us. There will be food and toy stalls and also entertainment. The famous Carols by Candlelight, led by our Abraham Kriel children, also takes place on 18 December at 19:00 and promises to be extra special year.
The Festival of Lights will start on 2 December 2023 at 18:00. We are planning a spectacular opening ceremony; enter the date in your diary! Our lights will be twinkling every night from 18:00 ̶ 21:00 and the spectacle of light will be presented until 24 December. The entrance fee is only R10 per person.
