Can you help Monique realize her dream?
At the age of 9 in 2015, Monique Botha had to call the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom her new home. From the outset, it was clear that she would not allow the difficult domestic circumstances from which she came to hold her back.
Rather than letting the sadness of her past weigh her down, she used it as motivation to seek beauty; not only in her circumstances but also in people. Thus, a seed was planted to bring out the beauty in others, and Monique’s dream of becoming a hair stylist was born. This dream has been a guiding light in her life since then. It motivated her during difficult times to ensure a better future not only for herself but also for her brother and sister in the children’s home.
In April, Monique began her hair styling course at the Serwalo Hair Academy in Pretoria. This one-year course is at NQF level 4, equivalent to a diploma. At the academy, she will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue a career in the beauty industry.
The cost of this course amounts to R70 000, and she needs your help to realize her dream of bringing out the beauty in others.
Every R100 is a step closer to a promising future. Your contribution will not only cover the costs of her course but also encourage her to flourish in this field.
