On Friday, 19 September 2025, the children of the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home in Nylstroom were given a unique opportunity to explore future career paths during a Career Orientation Day which focused on the Wildlife and Hospitality industries.

Hosted at Shekinah Lion and Game Lodge near Vaalwater, the event was facilitated by the WRSA Lephalale Regional Interest Group (RIG) under the leadership of Paul Booyens and Nicky Bothma.

Throughout the day, participants were introduced to a variety of career options within these vibrant sectors. Engaging presentations and personal stories from professionals combined practical insights with inspiration and hope for the future.

After the sessions, Shekinah Lion and Game Lodge treated the group to a memorable bushveld experience, including a predator viewing, a hearty meal, and a scenic game drive through the reserve.

The event was a resounding success, equipping the young participants with knowledge, encouragement, and confidence to pursue their goals.

Abraham Kriel Children’s Home extends heartfelt thanks to the sponsors who made this initiative possible: WRSA, Matlabas Reserve, Cheetah Safaris, Shekinah Lion and Game Lodge, Wildman Lephalale, Pick n Pay Lephalale, and Beyond Bush Venison.

Your generosity and commitment to community upliftment gave these young people more than just a day of learning – you gave them inspiration and a vision for the future.
