During February, Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom launched the “Hip hip hooray!” campaign – an initiative born from a simple but important need: that every child should experience the joy of a birthday celebration. As a day like this is not a given for many of our children, this campaign gave them the opportunity to experience special moments.

Thanks to the generous support of our friends and donors, the campaign truly came to life on 6 March with a festive party at Spur in Modimolle. March was chosen deliberately, as our founder, Rev Abraham Kriel, also celebrated his birthday in this month. All 170 Abraham Kriel children had great fun in the festiviteis of the afternoon.

The children loved playing in the play area, coloured in at the tables, and thoroughly enjoyed the burgers, chips and cake. When the birthday song began, everyone spontaneously joined in with clapping and dancing.

The special atmosphere of the day was found in the small moments – the joy on the children’s faces and the enthusiasm with which the birthday song was sung together. Everything contributed to an unforgettable day of laughter, celebration and togetherness.

A special word of thanks goes to Spur Modimolle for the warm welcome and for celebrating with us. Your hospitality and involvement made a valuable contribution to the success of the day.

And then, most importantly, to every friend and supporter who made a donation: it is through your contributions that this celebration became a reality. For these children, it was not just another outing, but a precious memory that will stay with them for a long time.
