My journey began in 2019 as a Grade 10 learner at the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom. I urgently needed stability, support, and guidance. What started out as simply a place of safety soon became a home for me, where I found hope, structure, and renewed courage.

With the loving care and ongoing support of all the staff and social workers, I was able to focus on my schoolwork and successfully completed my matric in 2021. This was an important milestone that opened new doors for me. In 2022, I began my BA Law studies at STADIO, with continued support from the children’s home.

In 2024, I successfully completed my BA in Law – an achievement that means far more to me than just an academic qualification. It was the result of hard work, perseverance, and the unwavering support I received over the years. In 2025, I took the next step in my academic journey by enrolling for an LLB degree.

I am deeply grateful to the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom for the financial and emotional support that has enabled me to realise my dreams. The children’s home has not only provided me with a safe place to stay, but also with love, guidance, and the opportunity to believe in myself and my future once again. It has become the foundation on which I am building my life and my future today.
