Marketer lives out her calling at our children’s home
Marlene de Villiers has been the marketing officer at Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom since 2018.
“Before I joined the children’s home, I worked in the dynamic, creative world of the entertainment industry. Yet I had always felt called to become involved in charitable work and make a tangible difference in people’s lives.”
Her move to the children’s home was more than a career choice; it was a calling.
“Today, it is a privilege to be part of an environment where children receive love, support and hope every day,” says De Villiers.
In her role as marketing officer, she focuses on raising awareness of the children’s home, engaging with communities and securing support for the children. According to De Villiers, the greatest reward is seeing the children grow and hearing their success stories.
“Every child’s story touches my heart,” she says. “Seeing a child grow and begin to realise his or her potential is deeply fulfilling.”
For Marlene, her work is ultimately about hope, human dignity and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in children’s lives.
