Ronel Schwarts has been part of Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom since 2008 and has become a familiar face over the years. She started out in the kitchen, where she still prepares meals for the children with care every day.

“For me, cooking has always been a way of showing someone that I care,” says Ronel.

Over the years, her love of cooking has only grown stronger. Today, she continues to pursue that passion by preparing frozen meals and baking rusks, which she sells through her small business, Warm Hart Etes.

“I believe food brings people together,” she says. “When someone eats something made with love, it makes them feel just a little more at home.”

Ronel’s caring nature also shows in the little things. She regularly bakes birthday cakes for children and staff, helping to make special occasions truly memorable.

After 18 years, Ronel remains a valued member of the children’s home staff.

“I’m grateful that I can contribute something meaningful to the lives of the children and staff in my own way,” she concludes.
