The children of Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom captivated the audience at their annual talent show, Die wêreld is ons verhoog, on 15 August 2026.

The theme of the evening was ‘Countries’, with each group bringing a different country to life in its own unique way. Through music, dance, costumes and creative performances, the children showed just how much preparation, courage and enthusiasm had gone into the event.

Charnel Oberholzer, organiser of the talent show, believes it was about far more than simply putting on a performance. “It was a celebration of our children, of who they are, what they can do, and how they can flourish when they are seen and supported,” she says.

Guests were treated to picnic boxes specially prepared by the Abraham Kriel Baking School, adding to the warm and festive atmosphere of the evening.

One of the most moving moments came during the closing performance of “We Are the Children”. The children gathered around the audience, creating a moment that deeply touched many of the guests.

The evening would not have been possible without the children, staff, helpers and supporters who worked together to make it happen. “We are incredibly proud of every child who took to the stage. Every dance step, every smile, every song and every moment of courage showed that, when our children are given the chance to shine, they can change the world.”

The evening was a reminder that the world truly is their stage, and that every child deserves the chance to be seen.
