ARC donates to children’s home
We were thrilled at the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home to receive a generous donation of groceries and toiletries from the Agricultural Research Council (ARC). This donation is a tremendous help as we have to meet the needs of 170 children in our care.
With the state subsidy covering only 25% of our expenses, which is not keeping up with inflation, and given the rising costs of food, fuel, school, and toll fees, it has become exceedingly challenging to ensure that we provide for our children’s basic needs are adequately taken care of.
We care for 170 traumatised children, and these numbers can vary depending on admissions. The cost per child amounts to R12 640,00, of which we are responsible for raising an additional R8 140,00 per child per month. This adds up to a staggering annual total of R16 605 600,00. For this reason, we highly value and urgently require the continued support of donors like the Agricultural Research Council. Your ongoing support is deeply appreciated and remains essential for our mission.
